Margaret SHANKY was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1870, the illigitamite child of Agnes FARMER.and was adopted by Andrew and Margaret SHANKEY. Through a series of misfortunes. when only 11, Maggie became a ward of the City Orphans Home in Glasgow and shortly thereafter she found herself on board a ship to Canada where she was soon adopted by Levi and Eliza VARNEY.

Ken MacSTEPHEN was born and raised in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. He married married Ruth WARD, also a native of 'The County' Ken currently lives in Toronto, Ontario and is a direct descendant of Maggie SHANKEY (FARMER), see Ken's Pedigree Chart.
