William and Margaret married and raised their children in Wiltshire, England in the 1700's. Their great-grandson, Henry George married Elizabeth WILTSHIRE and in 1853 with five children they emigrated to Markham Twp, York County, Upper Canada . By 1870 Henry was farming in North Dorchester, Middlesex Co, Ontario, and in 1877 the family moved to Lot 28, Con 1, in Bruce Twp, Bruce County, just west of the village of Glammis.
William and Margaret's GG Granddaughter, Louisa Jane POCOCK married Stephen STEPHENSON, both were born in England and married in North Dorchester Twp, Middlesex County, Ontario where six of their seven children where born. In 1876 they relocated to Lot 28, Con 12, just west of Glammis, in Kincardine Township. Their daughter Florence and her husband David COLWELL purchased the farm in 1906 and in 1943 Bill COLWELL took over the home farm. |
