John Flood's first wife Margaret Foler apparently died in Guelph Township, Wellington County. John then married Jane McMullen (McMillan) and they relocated to Brant Township, Bruce Countyabout 1850 and settled on Lot 5, Concession 15 of Brant, near the hamlet of Vesta on the Town Line between Brant and Elderslie Townships. John and Margaret'sson son Francis and his wife Lovina lived one concession north and slightly east on Lot 2, Con. 12 of Elderslie Twp., His daughter Elizabeth Flood married Pascho Saunders and lived one concession behind her father on Lot 13, Con. 14 of Brant Twp. John and Janes's son William and his wife Catherine lived in the village of Paisley. John and Jane left this area in 1881 with their youngest 2 sons, to claim a homestead in Fairview, Pickford Twp., Chippewa co. which was in Northern Michigan. Elizabeth and Pascho moved the same year to claim a homestead in North Dakota. William and Jane remained in Paisley until many years later when they moved to Regina Sask. Francis and Lovina remained retired to Chesley until their death and are buried in the Chesley Cemetery. |
