The COLWELL family came to Nova Scotia from Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Northern Ireland before 1823, where they apparently settled in King's County. Hanna Ann COLWELL married James McKNIGHT in Ireland and emigrated with their family to Canada before 1845 and settled in Albion Twp, Peel County, Ontario. Son John married Mary Ann BROWNING in Kings County, Nova Scotia and relocated to Huron County, Upper Canada about 1838. John COLWELL, his wife Eunice JORDAN, and children relocated to Kansas, USA. Edward married Rebecca JORDAN and they relocated to Kincardine Twp, Bruce County in the late 1840's.
