Descendants of Norman MORRISON & Christian MacKAY

Norman MORRISON and Christy MacKAY were married circa 1800 on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Hebridies and had a family of at least five children. Norman was a small tenant farmer in Bovre and Christy was a mid-wife.
Their daughter Henny married James SAUNDERS in 1819 and had at least ten children in Barvas Parish Their eldest son Donald 'Dan' married Margaret MacLEOD in 1842 in Barvas Parish, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. After his wife Margaret's death circa 1850 Donald emigrated to Canada with four of his children. In 1854 he married Margaret SMITH in Huron Township, Bruce County, Ontario and another six children were added to the family. Their son James, b.1845, married Jessie GAHAM in Huron Township where they had six children before relocating to Southampton about 1901 where two more children where born.
Dan and his first wife, Margaret's eldest son James SAUNDERS married Janet "Jessie" GRAHAM and they had several children, one of whom was Euphemia. Phemie had a daughter Jean born out of wedlock in Port Elgin in November of 1915. Jean was adopted by Daunt and Louisa METCALFE of Greenock Township, Bruce County and they named their chosen daughter Florence Mae METCALFE.
