17. Andrew Alexander MILNE (Andrew7, Andrew1) was born on October 22, 1859 in Guelph, Wellington Co, Ontario, Canada,5 died on April 24, 1941 in Durham, Grey Co, Ontario, Canada6 aged 81, and was buried in Chesley Cemetery, Elderlsie Twp, Ontario, Canada.
A. A. Milne (October 22, 1859-April 24, 1941) was born in Guelph but moved to Bentinck when he was six. He helped to clear the land and only attended school for 3 years, but his letters and diaries show that he made good use of his education. Catherine McKinnon (Jan. 30, 1869-March 25, 1927) was born in Bentinck. When she was 16, Catherine woke to find her parents bed on fire from a bolt of lightning. She doused the flames using a nearby milk jug, and ran through the storm to the neighbours for help. Her father died, but her mother recovered and baby Angus, who was in bed with them, was unharmed.
A.A. and Catherine were married on Feb. 28 1894 and lived in a second house on the Milne Bentinck farm where their seven children were born. A.A. was the Presentor at Crawford Presbyterian Church, leading the singing with a tuning fork. In 1895 he was Elder, Secretary, Treasurer and Presenter at Ceawford Church. In 1914 the family moved to a farm on the 8th concession of Brant Township where the land was better suited to farming. Catherine died of pneumonia when she was only 58. Andrew died in the Durham Hospital when h e was 81. They were buried in the Chesley Cemetery.

Andrew married Catherine McKINNON, daughter of Neil McKINNON and Euphemia "Effy" CAMERON, on February 28, 1894.6 Catherine was born on January 31, 1869 in Bentinck Twp, Grey Co, Ontario, Canada,5 died on March 25, 1927 in Brant Twp, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada aged 58, and was buried in Chesley Cemetery, Elderlsie Twp, Ontario, Canada.
