3. Margaret "Peggy" Isobelle MILLER (Robert1) was born in 1922 in Longview, , Alberta, Canada2 and died on December 12, 2003 in High River, , Alberta, Canada, aged 81. She was usually called Peggy.

Margaret Isobelle MILLER passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, December 12th, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Peggy will be dearly missed by her sons Vern Baldwin and Russell Baldwin (Terry) of Calgary and daughter Lynn Flanders (Murray) of Okotoks. As well she is survived by her grandchildren Jason Stusick (Erin)of Lethbridge and Kimberley Marshall (Carl) of Hull England and her two brothers John (Jack) Miller of High River and Robert (Bob) Miller of Turner Valley and sister Lila Robinson of Youngstown. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews and other family members and friends. She was born in High River and lived for her first 11 years on the family's farm near Longview. Her mother passed away when she was five years old so she and her brothers lived with their dad until he passed away six years later. Peggy then went to live with the Neil Ross family in High River, at which time she acquired a new sister, their daughter Lila. After she finished school she moved to Calgary where she met and married Harold Baldwin and had three children with him. She lived in Calgary until she moved to High River in 1999 where she lived for the rest of her life. Peggy loved to garden and she loved animals. For many years she raised championship Basenji dogs and she was never without a pet in her home. In the last few years she often pet sat for friends and acquaintances who left their pets in her loving care. Her family was the most important part of her life and she was always proud of her children and grandchildren.

Peggy married Harold BALDWIN.

4. John "Jack" MILLER (Robert1) was born on July 27, 1925 in Longview, , Alberta, Canada2 and died on April 3, 2013 in High River, , Alberta, Canada,2 aged 87. He was usually called Jack.

John (Jack) MILLER passed away peacefully in his home on April 3, 2013. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Gwen; his son Lee; his daughter Janice (Ken); his special niece Laurie Brown; his granddaughter Rachel Miller; grandsons Jackson Miller, Bradley (Carly), Clayton and Wesley Robinson. Jack had a special relationship with his large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Isabel; sister Peg, brother Bob (Louise) and brother in law, Grant (Rose) Hartwick. John served as an ASDIC officer in the navy during World War II from 1943-45. Upon returning home John started farming. While he began in mixed farming, his true passion was quarter horses. Working with the High River Agricultural Society, John brought the first quarter horse show to Canada in 1956. He also enjoyed sharing his time and knowledge with the 4-H clubs in the area. In 2004 he was inducted into the High River Ag Society Wall of Fame. John was a founding director of the Alberta Quarter Horse Breeders Group and an original Director of the Alberta Quarter Horse Racing Association and the Alberta Futurity and Stakes Association. He spent more than half his life promoting the breed internationally. In 1972, John received his AQHA judging card and spent 12 years traveling to shows in Canada, the US and Australia. In 1950 he married his childhood sweetheart, Gwen Hartwick. Being orphaned at an early age, John considered the Hartwick family his family and held a special place in all their hearts. His true passion was his family immediate and extended and he encouraged and took an interest in all their accomplishments.

Jack married Gail HARTWICK.

5. Jessie "Alberta" McKINNON (Robert1) was born on July 17, 1928 in High River, , Alberta, Canada and died on August 17, 2022 in Airdrie, , Alberta, Canada, aged 94. She was usually called Alberta.

Jessie Alberta McKinnon passed away on August 17, 2022, at the age of 94.

Alberta was born in High River, AB on July 17, 1928, and was adopted by her parents Jim and Jennie McKinnon as an infant and moved to Paisley, Ontario, where she resided for over 30 years before moving to west to Alberta.

She is predeceased by her parents, son Reginald McKinnon, and biological brothers Jack Miller and Bob Miller. Alberta is survived by her daughter, Laurie Brown, and cousins Robert Fletcher and Elizabeth Fletcher. She was loved and cherished for by her dedicated caregiver and friend, Debbie Fletcher in the last 15 years of her life, and resided at the Bethany Care Centre in Airdrie, Alberta for the last 10 years of life. She was frequently visited by Robert, Debbie, and their children and grandchildren, who enjoyed her company and life stories.

Alberta had an uncanny memory for details and dates, which was displayed in her hobby of family history; she enjoyed preserving family connections through her avid letters and correspondence. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. Her family would like to thank the many caregivers who were dedicated to her well being over the years. At her request, no service will be held.
