Dr. T. H. HANBIDGE was born in Ontario, Canada, March 30, 1856. His father, John Hanbidge, was a native of Ireland and his mother was born in Scotland. To these parents were born six children, of whom the Doctor is third in order of birth. He secured his early education in the public schools of his native province and graduated from the Collingwood Collegiate Institute at the age of twenty-six. His professional training began at Toronto Medical College and was finished at Bellevue Hospital Medical College, New York city, where he was graduated March 10, 1890. After six months' practice at Ogdensburg N. Y., in partnership with his brother, Dr. W. B. Hanbidge, with whom he had studied, he came to Montana, locating at Victor, where he practiced for four years. He then visited Germany and spent a year in the hospitals of that country, taking a post-graduate course and special courses on the treatment of diseases peculiar to the eye, ear, nose and throat. Dr. Hanbidge then visited the principal cities of Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Holland and Belgium and in the fall of 1897 went to London, England, where he spent nine months attending the hospitals of that city. On his return to Montana he practiced for two years in Missoula, at the end of which time he returned to Victor where he has been actively engaged in practice ever since.
In politics the doctor is a staunch Republican and takes a great interest in the success of his party. Fraternally he is identified with the Masons and the Order of The Eastern Star, Odd Fellows, Modern Woodmen and the Knights of the Maccabees.

William Byron, son of John and Anna (Crowe) Hanbidge, was born in Arran, Bruce county, Ontario, Canada, Jan. 13, 1859. His literary education was acquired at Owen Sound Academy and Galt Collegiate Institute at Galt, Ontario, and he pursued his medical studies at Toronto University, from which he received his degree of M.D. in 1882, and in Dublin, Ireland, becoming a licentiate of King and Queen College of Physicians in 1883.
He located first in Edwardsville, New York, where he remained about one year, after which he spent some time in Europe, and in 1884 located in Ogdensburg, N.Y., where he has since practiced his profession with marked success. He has attained for himself high rank in the profession, and holds membership in the consulting board of physicians at the State Hospital at Ogdensburg and in the city board of health. He is a member of the Ogdensburg Medical Society, the State Medical Association, and American Medical Association, and the Northern New York Medical Association.
He is a member of the Episcopal church and a member of Acacian Lodge, No. 705, Free and Accepted Masons, of Ogdensburg, and of the local chapter, Royal Arch Masons. He is also a member of the Century Club, of Ogdensburg, N.Y.
Dr. Hanbidge married, at Barrie, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 16, 1885, Frances Martha, born at Dacota, Halton county, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Francis and Sarah G. (Spence) Baker, of Barrie, the former of whom was a manufacturer of lumber. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Baker, in addition to Mrs. Hanbidge, already mentioned: Frank S. Baker, architect, Toronto, Ontario; Thomas Baker, of Dyment Baker Lumber Company, London, Ontario; Mrs. Dean Parker, Toronto; Mrs. Thomas Ross Boys, Toronto.
Children of Mr. & Mrs. Hanbidge: Francis Findlay, a graduate of Cornell University, receiving the degree of Bachelor of Architecture; an architect by profession and John McCartney, an under-graduate of Hobart College, Geneva, New York.

"Our Williscroft correspondent sent in an account of a wedding which took place a few days ago on the Elderslie - Arran town line. It was a marriage contracted under difficulties, and it is hoped that all's well that ends well.
The parties involved were George Flood of Paisley and a Miss McKelvie of Arran. Flood is a very young man to undertake such serious work and his father quite naturally, objected to marriage taking place. However, preparations for the wedding went serenely on. The day arrived, the invited guests in large numbers put in an appearance, and the minister, Rev. Mr. Sherlock, of Arkwright, was just on the point of beginning the last act in the drama when the young man's irate father unceremoniously introduced himself and endeavoured to arrest further proceedings. He advised the young man to go home, promising in case he did so to send him to college. Failing in this, he proceeded to scare the minister, which he most effectively did. He then left and Mr. Sherlock did likewise. But a conveyance was procured, the young couple were driven to Burgoyne and the Baptist minister of that place was induced to tie the knot. They then returned to the residence of the bride's father, which they reached about 11 P.M. The guests were still on deck and it is needless to add, did ample justice to the excellent repast which had been provided. Here the curtain drops." 1
