The family farmed in this area for a few years and the rest of Evelyn's life was spent in the Sedgewick District. She always joked as to what a traveler she was, being as she lived 1/2 a mile from where she was born. At 90 years of age she may well have been the oldest living female in the Sedgewick area. She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Peggy (Keith) Adams of Port Alberni, B.C.; brother, Mick (Mary-Ellen) Baker of Medicine Hat and sister-in-law, Kewpie Baker of Camrose; three grandsons, Gary (Alison) Adams, Dale (Tammy) Adams and David (Brenda) Adams; great-grandchildren, Allissa, Kyle and Kiana Evelyn as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her life in her little farming community. Thanks to all of her dear friends and neighbors around the district for being there for her. We will all miss this spunky lady who no longer lives at the top of the hill. Her door was always open for a cup of coffee and a game of cards. Give her ten minutes and she was ready to go to bingo. Not bad for 90 years of age.

Mick especially enjoyed the annual family vacation to Fairmont Hot Springs. The week was filled with golfing, swimming, and coming together each night for "Happy Hour". Mick enjoyed his friends and his New Year's Birthday Parties were a highlight of the year. Mick had an infectious sense of humour and loved a good joke. Mick was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren could rely on him for guidance and support, as he was always ready with a listening ear and a helping hand. Upon his retirement his days were filled with golfing, curling and spending time with his family.
