Descendants of James SAUNDERS and Henrietta MORRISON
James SAUNDERS married Henny MORRISON in 1819 and had at least ten children in Barvas Parish Their eldest son Donald 'Dan' married Margaret MacLEOD in 1842 in Barvas Parish, Isle of Lewis, Scotland. After his wife Margaret's death circa 1850 Donald emigrated to Canada with four of his children. In 1854 he married Margaret SMITH in Huron Township, Bruce County, Ontario and another six children were added to the family. Their son James, b.1845, married Jessie GAHAM in Huron Township where they had six children before relocating to Southampton about 1901 where two more children where born. Dan and his first wife, Margaret's eldest son James SAUNDERS married Janet "Jessie" GRAHAM and they had several children, one of whom was Euphemia. Phemie had a daughter Jean born out of wedlock in Port Elgin in November of 1915. Jean was adopted by Daunt and Louisa METCALFE of Greenock Township, Bruce County and they named their chosen daughter Florence Mae METCALFE.
In the 1841 census Henny MORRISON was widowed with ten children and a small tenant (crofter). This photo is of a croft as it looks today at Bovre on the Isle of Lewis.
Katherine Louise 'Kathy' WATSON was born 1946 to John 'Jack' WATSON
and Florence METCALFE in Greenock Township, Bruce County,
