Obituary for EMMA RITCHIE:
The death took place at Elbow Sask., on May 14th, of Mrs Archibald Ector, at the age of 68 years. Two years ago with two of her duaghters, deceased wisited her kin in the East and pleasant memories linger of her visit. She had been ill in bed but a week with a heart and nerve trouble and death came as a great blow to the family.
Previous to removing West to Elbow, about 25 years ago, Mr and Mrs Ector occupied the farm now owned by Adam Anderson, Edge Hill. Here their family of eight children were born, one daughter Myrtle predeceasing her about 7 years. Mr. Ector passed away about 5 years ago. The surviving family members are Mrs. Somers, near Bethune, Sask; Margaret, Bertha and Raymond at home, Archie, living nearby; Elsie, teacher and Ethel, Mrs. also in Sask. In Mrs. Ector's family, there survive tow sisters and one brother, Miss Jane Ritchie and brother George of Edge Hill and Mrs. Moffat of Pinkerton, Bruce Co.
Burial took place at Elbow, Sask.

Emmaline married Archibald ECTOR, son of Robert ECTOR and Frances "Fanny" McCALLUM, on September 30, 1891 in Durham, Grey Co, Ontario, Canada.7 Archibald was born on September 19, 1863 in Glenelg Twp, Grey Co, Ontario, Canada,4 died on May 11, 1930 in Regina, , Saskatchewan, Canada7 aged 66, and was buried in Elbow, , Saskatchewan, Canada.

Loreburn, Sask. May 16, 1930 The funeral of the late Archibald Ector who died in Regina Sunday was held from the United Church, elbow, on Tuesday, services being conducted by Rev. E.J. Chegwin, Rev. L.A. Mutitt and Rev. D.J. Vaughan. The church was filled to capacity and there were numerous floral tributes. Interment was in Elbow cemetery.
The late Mr Ector was 68 years old, and was born in Durham, Ont. He came west in 1910 and first settled on a farm near Strongfield, later taking up a homestead in the Elbow district, now occupied by his eldest son, William.
At the time of his death he owned one of the most modern farms in the province. Since 1919 he had been a member of the council board of the rural municipality and as a member of this body his business ability was greatly appreciated by his colleagues. Obituary for WILLIAM GEORGE ECTOR:
A pioneer resident of the Elbow district, William George Ector, passed away on Oct. 13, 1954, at Central Butte hospital at the age of 60 years, 1 month and 23 days.
Born Aug. 19, 1894, at Durham, Ont., he was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ector. Educated at Durham, Mr. Ector came west in 1911 with his father where he and his father resided on a homestead nine miles northwest of Elbow. The rest of the family came out later. He returned east and on Feb. 16, 1921, he married Bessie Eva Atkinson , second oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Atkinson of Durham, Ont. On coming west, they resided on his father's homestead.
Mr. Ector was a member of the Bonnie View United church. He saw the forming of the Wild Lily School district and took an active part on the school board. During his lifetime, he was a member of the Wheat Pool and recently took an active part on the telephone board.
Mr. and Mrs. Ector and son Archie had been visiting in Ontario. On leaving for home, they were in a serious automobile accident , July 23rd. Mr Ector remained in the east with Mrs Ector until coming to Moose Jaw Sept. 30, then returning home for three days before entering Central Butte Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Eva, of Moose Jaw Union Hospital ; one son, Archie of Elbow; four daughters, (Marjorie) Mrs. Sverre Pederson of Girvin, (Robena) Mrs Adam Chernick of Elbow, (Wilma) Mrs. Theodore Peil of Morse, (Myrtle) Mrs. James Laybourne of Tugaske; nine grandchildren; one brother, Raymond of Elbow; and four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Sellars of Moose Jaw, Bertha Ector, Mrs James Baker and Mrs. Millan Wankel, all of Elbow. He was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret , Myrtle, and one brother Archie, all of Elbow.
Funeral services were held from the Elbow United Church at 2:30 Oct. 16th, with Rev. John Evans officiating. Broadfoot's Funeral Home, Moose Jaw, were in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were A. Bartel, D. Miller, S. Medby, G.R. Book, N. Bartley and J.H. Miller

A quiet wedding was solemnized at the Rectory on Wednesday of last week, Feb. 16 , 1921, at noon, when Mr. Wm. George Ector was united in marriage to Miss Bessie Eva Atkinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Atkinson of Glenelg. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Hardy. The bride was neatly attired in a navy blue serge traveling suit with hat to match, and black fox furs. After a short wedding trip to Greenock and Grand Valley, the young couple have returned to the bride's home, where they will spend a week or two before leaving for their home at Elbow, Sask. about the middle of March.

Obituary for BESSIE EVA ATKINSON:
Mrs. Bessie Eva Ector, a well known and respected resident of Elbow, passed away quietly Feb. 4, 1960, at the Tuxford Nursing Home, in her 67th year. Born July 29, 1893, at Durham, Ont, she was the second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Joseph Atkinson. After receiving her education at Durham, then marrying on Feb. 16, 1921, William George Ector, who had been residing out west at Elbow, they then came west to Elbow to live on the Ector homestead, nine miles northwest of the town.
Mrs. Ector had been a member of Trinity Church, Durham, later changing over to the Bonnie View United Church. She greatly enjoyed her gardening, flowers, and once the growing of fruit trees during the harder years. Her ways of kindness and devoted family life will linger in our memories. She had always resided on their farm.
In two successive summers, 1953-54, automobile trips were made east by Mr. and Mrs. Ector and Archie. Mr. Wilfred Miller of Loreburn accompanied them on the last trip. On leaving for home, a seriousaccident occurred July 23, 1954. Mrs. Ector remained in the east in several different hospitals, until coming to Moose Jaw General Hospital, Sept. 30, 1954. Half a year was spent in recovery at the Saskatchewan Hospital, at Weyburn. In May, 1955, Mrs. Ector returned as an invalid of the wheel chair and stayed for a year amongst her daughters, Myrtle, Marjory , and Robena. Since then, she had been at the Tuxford Nursing Home. Mrs Ector had been in failing health for many years.
She leaves to mourn her loss, four daughters, Marjory, (Mrs Sverre Pederson) , Girvin, Robena (Mrs Adam Chernick), Elbow, Wilma (Mrs. Theodore Peil) of Morse, Myrtle (Mrs James Laybourne) , Tugaske; one son , Archie of Elbow, and 13 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William George, in Oct. 1954. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs Joseph Patterson, St. Catherine, Mrs. Ray McRae, Palmerston, Mrs Joseph Edwards, Markdale, one brother , James Atkinson, Owen Sound.
Funeral services were held from the Elbow United Church, at 2pm, Feb. 8, with Rev. Paul Webb officiating.

Notes for BERTHA EMELINE ECTOR:
The passing of Miss Bertha Emeline Ector occurred in Davidson Union Hospital on March 17, 1977 at the age of 76.
The late Miss Ector was born May 1, 1900 near Durham, Ont.. She came west with her parents in March, 1911 and lived in Elbow district on the farm until April 1940 when she and her late sister, Margaret, purchased a house in the town of Elbow. She derived a great deal of pleasure from gardening and enjoyed the flowers and vegetables. One of her pass times was playing bridge which she enjoyed until a year before her death when cataracts blurred her vision. She was an avid curling fan following closely the Brier and other competitions. Following several strokes she was forced to sell her house in 1967 and became a guest at Prairie View Lodge in Davidson. As the years passed she became more handicapped and was obliged to use walker and wheel chair. Her death followed two weeks after a hip operation at University Hospital from a coronary attack.
She leaves to mourn her loss two sisters, Elsie Baker and Ethel Wankel, both of Elbow, Sask. and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service was held on Wed. March 20 at 2pm from Elbow United Church conducted by Rev. W. Hayden.
Interment took place in the Elbow Cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers; William Sellars, Herbert Schmunk, Robert Wankel, Bert Bramble, William Ector, Donald Chernick. Arrangements were in charge of Park Funeral Chapel, Saskatoon.

Ill for many months and critical for the past ten days, Robert Alexander Watson passed away at his home on Church St. on Tuesday evening. He was in his 72nd year.
A son of the late Andrew Watson and Eliza McKee, he was born on the family homestead in Greenock Twp. He attended Jackson's school and then farmed on the old home property until about seven years ago when he retired and came with his sisters to live in Paisley.
While he was of a quiet and retiring nature, Mr. Watson was known and respected by many friends and acquaintances in the community. He was a member of the Anglican Church.
He is survived by five brothers and three sisters : Albert and William of Niagara Falls NY; James of Detroit Mich.; Frank and Howard of Paisley; Misses Mary and Alice of Paisley and (May) Mrs. Joe Rowley of Galt. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother and sister.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2:30 at the Stoddart & Son Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Tomkinson, rector of the Church of the Ascension. Interment in Stark Vale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Messrs. Fred, Marshall and Wilbert Watson, Clifford, Lawson and Leslie Majury, all cousins of the deceased. The flowerbearers were H.C. Barnett, Ernest Stoddart, Norman Dryden and Jack Watson.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Edward Majury was held on Friday afternoon from the residence of her daughter Mrs. Robert Alexander at Eden Grove. Services were conducted by Mr. Arthur Brown, student rector of the Church of the Ascension, Paisley. Interment was in Stark Vale Cemetery. Casket bearers were Robert, Ross and Burton Majury, Percy and George Gregg and Don Ross Parrott.
Mrs. Majury, the former Eliza Jane Watson died in Owen Sound General and Marine Hospital on July 6th following an illness of only a few hours. She had been spending a few days at the home of her son near the city when she suffered a stroke at the evening meal with her family. She was removed to hospital immediately, but passed away six hours later, without regaining consciousness. She was in her 92nd year.
A daughter of the late Jane Ritchie and William Watson, the subject of this sketch was born in Elderslie Twp., on the Elora Road South, on the farm now occupied by Chester Teeple. She was educated at Ellengowan School. In 1877 she married Edward Majury, and the couple farmed in Greenock Twp. for a few years and then moved the farm across the road to Con A, Elderslie, where they continued to reside until his passing in 1933. For the past number of years Mrs. Majury made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Alexander of Eden Grove. Her health was remarkably good, and she enjoyed visiting with other members of her family, while her principle occupation was knitting, at which she was particularly adept. She was a member of the Church of the Ascension, Paisley, and so long as health permitted was a regular attendant at service.
The last surviving member of a family of ten, six brothers and three sisters, she is survived by five sons and one daughter: Edward, Owen Sound; John, Manitoba; Clifford, Eden Grove; Leslie, Paisley; Lawson, Elderslie Twp. and (Annie) Mrs. R. Alexander of Eden Grove. Three daughters: Margaret, Nancy and Minnie and one son Robert, predeceased their mother.

Eliza married Edward MAJURY, son of Robert MAJURY and Janet CARR, on February 27, 1877 in Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada. Edward was born on April 12, 1849 in Lanark Twp, Lanark Co, Ontario, Canada,1,28 died on September 2, 1933 in Greenock Twp, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada aged 84, and was buried in Starkvale Cemetery Paisley, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada.10

The home and family of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Majury, Con A, Elderslie Twp. is bereaved by the death of the eldest son, William Robert, which occurred on Monday forenoon. The deceased had been under the doctor's care for about a year. Born on the town line of Greenock and Elderslie, be spent most of his life in that neighbourhood, employed on the home farm or with other farmers. In 1909 he went out west and took up a homestead in Salvador Sask., but sold out in 1918 and returned home. He was 41 years of age and unmarried. He was well spoken of by all who knew him. The parents and family have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement.

Miss Elizabeth Watson passed away at the County of Bruce Hospital, Walkerton, on Monday, June 29th, in her 101st year. The late Miss Watson was born March 26, 1881 to James and Margaret Watson.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Olive Sutherland and Mabel Cruickshank, and one brother, Wilbert. Elizabeth attended school in Eden Grove and Owen Sound. When nine years old, her parents and family moved to Owen Sound, where they resided for five years before returning to farming in Brant Twp.
Elizabeth remained at home caring for her aged parents. After their passing, she and her brother Wilbert moved to Queen St. Paisley. Her sister, Olive, on the passing of her husband, lived with them until her own passing. When Wilbert passed away she was unable to live alone. She was a resident of Gateway Haven for six months when a vacancy allowed her to into Brucelea at Walkerton in Dec. 1977.
Elizabeth was an active member of the Eden Grove United Church and Women's Institute. During both wars she was an ardent worker. 'Lizzy' was a friend to all and had a cheery and witty disposition. She loved needlework, sewing and card games. Five weeks ago she had the misfortune to fall and break her hip. There are many fond memories of a loving aunt and friend.
She leaves to mourn, one nephew and several grand-nieces and nephews and great-grand-nieces and nephews. The remains rested at the James Hope Funeral Home, Paisley, where the funeral and committal service was held on Thursday, July 2, 1981, with the Rev. James Rech of Underwood officiating. Interment following in the Douglas Hill Cemetery.

In his 84th year, Robert A. Watson of Elora Road South passed away on Sunday at the home of his son, Mr. Fred Watson, Lot 3, Con A, Eldershe Twp. His whole life was spent in his home community, and always he had been regarded with the highest respect by all who knew him. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm Watson, pioneer settlers on the Elora Road South, and after attaining manhood farmed on 100 acres of homestead taken up by his father from the government, and continued to carry on until three years ago, when his health failed, since which time he has made his home with his sons Fred and Marshall. In religion he was an Anglican and in politics a Conservative.
Fifty-nine years ago he married Elizabeth Davison, daughter of Mr. and mrs. Jas. Davison, who predeceased him in November, 1929. Three sons survive; Fred of Eldershe; Marshall of Brant Twp. and Melrose of St. Thomas; also a sister and brother, Mrs. E. Majury of Brant Twp. and David Watson of Paisley.
The funeral was held this Wednesday afternoon from the home of Mr. Fred Watson. Services were conducted by Rev. Wylie of the United Church, Paisley. Interment was in Paisley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Messrs. Clifford, Lawson and Leslie Majury, Wilbert and Ellsworth Watson and Bob McTeer. Flowerbearers were Jack and Bert Watson.

Robert Watson of Paisley, Ont., spent a few days with his sister, Mrs. Davison, before her death; and Mrs William Osborne of Prescott has also been a visitor at the Davison home.

DIED - Nov. 12, 1911, Margaret Watson Davison, aged 43 years, seven months and 28 days. Margaret Watson was born in the county of Bruce, Ontario, where she lived to young womanhood and was united in marriage with David Davison of the same place, on Dec. 23 1885. In the year 1892 Mr. and Mrs. Davison removed to the States to try their fortunes in the then wilds of northern Michigan, locating at Prescott, afterward removing to Tawas Township, and thence to Grant, where they have been prominent citizens for several years. To this union were born seven children six of whom are living; Lorne, aged 24; Harcourt, 21; Annie, 17; Orville, 14; Mabel, 6; and Albert, 4 years, who, with the husband are left to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held from the Hemlock Road church. Rev. G.W. Gilroy, of the M.E. Church of AuGres, spoke consoling words to the bereaved relatives and a large concourse of sorrowing friends. The remains will be laid to rest at Tawas City Cemetery, beside the little one who was called before. And is this all? Ah, no. The Christian deeds and helpful advice of a loving mother will live on and on with those who are left behind.

David Davison, probate judge of Iosco Co., died at 6:30 Thursday morning at his residence in this city. The deceased had been in poor health for several months and during the past few weeks had been confined to his home. Judge Davison was elected to the office of probate judge in 1912 and had with distinction served the county in that capacity for the past 26 years. He was prominent in the political circles of the county and is fellow citizens placed great confidence in his judgement, ability and integrity.
The deceased was born March 16, 1859, in Bruce Co. Ontario. As a young man he graduated from the Toronto Veterinary College. He and his family came to Michigan in 1891, going to Prescott where for a number of years he managed the Richland Farms for C.H. Prescott & Sons. Later he purchased a farm in Tawas Twp. which he operated and where he practised his profession. Previous to being probate judge he had served his Township a number of years as supervisor and had been a member of the school board.
He is survived by three sons, James H. Davison and Orville A. Davison, of Flint, and William A. Davison of Tawas City, and Mrs. Percy Kinnish of Flint; Two brothers, James Davison of Flint, and Samuel Davison of Chesley, Ontario; and a sister, Mrs. Jane Daniels of Owen Sound, Ontario.
The funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home and 2:30 from the Methodist Church, Rev. S.A. Carey will officiate.

A native and lifelong resident of this district, David S. Watson, died at his home on Rowe St. on Friday Sept. 5th, in his 80th year. Mr. Watson had been in failing health for the past year. He had been able to get around fairly well, and on Thursday had been downtown as was his daily custom. When he was not seen moving around his home on Friday morning, neighbours went to the house on the noon hour and found Mr. Watson prostrate on the couch. Dr. R.J. Tucker was called but found upon arrival that death had occurred some hours earlier, after suffering a heart seizure.
Mr. Watson was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Watson, pioneer settlers, and was born in 1868 on the old homestead farm, Lot 3 Con B, Elderslie Twp., on the Elora Road just south of the village. He took over the farm following the passing of his parents and lived there until he retired about 16 years ago and came to live in Paisley. In 1889 he married Ellen Dalgarno of Brant Twp. who predeceased him in 1939. He is survived by one son, Elsworth, of Elora Road South. A daughter (Nellie) Mrs. Chester Teeple, passed away about 20 years ago. A sister Mrs. Ed Majury in Brant Twp.
In religion Mr. Watson was an Anglican and was warden in the congregation of the Church of the Ascension for many years.
The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon from the home of his son, Mr. Elsworth Watson, Elora Road South. Services by Rev. E.D. Dickson rector of the Church of the Ascension. Interment in Stark Vale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robtert Irwin, J.R. McArthur, Cameron Green, S.F. Ballachey, Ed Maxwell and Alex Coates. Flower-bearers were Ed Watson, Lawson Majury, Leslie Dalgarno and Geo. Scott.

OBITUARY FOR ELLEN DALGARNO-WATSON

Ellen Dalgarno, beloved wife of David Watson, passed away Thursday last at her home on Rowe St., after an extended illness. Seven years ago, on account of her health, Mr. and Mrs. Watson retired from the farm on Elora Road South, where they had lived since their marriage on Jan. 22, 1890. Her fatal illness set in about three or four months ago, and she had been bedfast for seven weeks.
Mrs. Watson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Dalgarno of Brant, and was born in that township nearly seventy years ago.
Besides her sorrowing husband she is survived by their only son, Elsworth, of Elora Road South. Their only daughter Mrs. C. Teeple, died ten years ago. Two sisters and two brothers living are Mrs. Mac Scott of Eden Grove; Mrs. Wesley Porter of Paisley; Robert Dalgarno of Brant Twp. and James of Alberta.
The funeral was held from the home on Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a very large number of sympathizing friends and neighbours among whom Mrs. Watson had been very highly esteemed and will always be kindly remembered. The services were conducted by Rev. E.D. Dickson, rector of the Anglican Church, Paisley, of which congregation the deceased had been a faithful member. Interment was made in Stark Vale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Messers. Mac Scott, Wes Porter, R.C. Teeple, James, Ed and John Maxwell. Flower-bearers were James, Harold, Gordon and Harry Scott, Leslie Majury, Fred Porter, Leslie Dalgarno, C. Teeple, W. Sheepy and H. Cormack.
