The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon of last week of a former Greenock Twp. resident, William Andrew Watson. Service was held at the Gridley Funeral Home in Niagara Falls, with the Rev. Charles C. Berrybill officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Present from Paisley were Mrs. Howard Watson, Mrs. Frank Watson and Miss Alice Watson. Mr. Watson died in hospital in Buffalo N.Y. on Saturday, April 8.
He was the eldest son of the late Andrew Watson and Eliza Jane McKee. He was born in Greenock Twp. on the farm where his brother Frank now resides. He attended #8, Greenock & Elderslie School.
Mr. Watson was employed by the National Biscuit Co., Niagara Falls N.Y., for 30 years, retiring in 1947. In 1913 he was married to Agnes Storey of Paisley, who predeceased him in 1956.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Theodore V. Gandini of Arlington, Texas and Mrs. Harold E. Hostreiter of Buffalo, N.Y.; two grandchildren; three brothers: James of Royal Oak, Michigan; Frank and Howard, both of Paisley and three sisters: Mrs. Joseph Rowley of Galt; Misses Alice and Mary of Paisley. Three brothers and a sister predeceased him.

The funeral took place on Monday afternoon of last week of a former Greenock Twp. resident, Albert J. Watson. Service was held at the Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Butz, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Present from Paisley were Miss Alice Watson, Mrs. Frank Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Elsworth Watson and Walter McClure.
Mr. Watson died in Memorial Hospital, Niagara Falls, on Friday April 3. He had undergone an operation in August, 1957, for tumor of the spinal cord. Three weeks ago he had returned to the hospital when urenia had developed.
Alfred Watson was the third son of late Andrew Watson and Eliza Jane McKee. He was born in Greenock Twp. on the farm where his brother Frank Watson now resides. He attended SS #8 Greenock & Elderslie School.
Mr. Watson was employed with the Carbourundum Co. as an assistant superintendent. He joined the company in 1914 and had retired six years ago. He was a member of Lodge #132, AF & AM and of the Retired Men's Club of the YMCA. In 1916 he married Lulu Hildebrandt of Niagara Falls, N.Y. who predeceased him by 11 years.
Survivors include one daughter, (Alice) Mrs. Chester Wilson; two grandchildren; four brothers: William of Buffalo; James of Royal Oak, Michigan; Frank and Howard both of Paisley, and three sisters: Mrs. Joseph Rowley of Galt; Misses Mary and Alice of Paisley. Two brothers and one sister predeceased him.

Friends here received the sad and unexpected news of the death of Margaret Majury, beloved wife of J.E. Alexander of Reward, Sask., which occurred at that place on Thursday last following a stroke of paralysis.
She was the daughter of Mrs. Ed Majury and the late Mr. Majury, and was born in Elderslie Twp. on Sept. 16th, 1878 and her death will be mourned by a large circle of friends and relatives in the district. She was married 35 years ago, and a few years after went west to Riding Mountain, Manitoba. Later they took up a homestead in Reward Sask., and have been living there since. Besides her sorrowing husband she is survived by a grown up family of four sons and one daughter, also her mother, one sister and five brothers; Mrs. Robt. Alexander and Clifford Majury of Eden Grove; John Majury of Riding Mountain, Man.; Edward of Sydenham Twp.; Lawson of Elderslie Twp. and Leslie of Paisley.

Margaret married James Edward ALEXANDER, son of Andrew ALEXANDER and Elizabeth COCKBURN, on January 30, 1901 in Greenock Twp, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada.5 James was born on August 24, 1879 in Eramosa Twp, Wellington Co, Ontario, Canada11,19,20 and died in 1961 aged 82.

OBITUARY FOR ELIZABETH ANN MAJURY-ALEXANDER

A senior citizen of the Eden grove area and a native of the Twp. of Greenock, Mrs. Robert Alexander died Saturday in Kincardine General Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past three months. She was in her 89th year. Mrs. Alexander was a life-resident of the Eden Grove district.
The former Elizabeth Ann Majury, she was born June 2, 1880, in Greenock Twp., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Majury. She attended Jackson School. In 1903 she married George Gregg, and they farmed in Greenock until his death in 1908. In 1913 she was married to Robert Alexander, residing in Eden Grove. Mr. Alexander passed away in 1941, and Mrs. Alexander continued to live at Eden Grove until going to hospital. Mrs. Gregg was a member of Eden Grove United Church, and a life member of the United Church Women.
Surviving are two sons, Percy Gregg of Kincardine and George Gregg of Greenock Twp., and a step-daughter, (Jennie) Mrs. George Gilbert of Galt; also three brothers, Edward of Owen Sound, Clifford of Eden Grove and Lawson of Paisley. There are 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. The funeral service Monday afternoon, at the Stoddart Funeral Home, Paisley, was conducted by Pastor Alfred Fry of Eden Grove United Church, assisted by Rev. Victor A. Wilkinson of Kincardine United Church. Burial took place in Douglas Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were six grandsons of the deceased; Tom, Andrew, Lawrence, Wilson, Allen and Harry Gregg. The floral tributes were borne by Allan Majury, Robert Ferguson, Borden Gregg, Donald Scott, Gordon Alexander and Ken Harwood.

The funeral of the late Nancy Ellen Majury, beloved wife of Mr. Edward Maxwell, Elora Road South, on Thursday last was attended by a large number of sorrowing friends and sympathisers. The deceased was the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Majury, and had been married about ten years. She was in her 36th year and her death in the prime of a useful life was due to an attack of pleurisy and pneumonia. The utmost sympathy is felt for the husband and family of one girl aged 9 and two boys aged 7 and 3 years. Mrs. Maxwell was highly esteemed among her large circle of friends and acquaintances.

OBITUARY FOR MINNIE MAY MAJURY-PARROTT

Minnie May Majury, wife of Lionel R. Parrott, of Toronto passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday evening at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Majury of Con A, Elderslie Twp. The deceased had been living in Toronto since a couple of years before her marriage five years ago. This spring her health failed and she came home to recuperate. Quite an improvement took place in her condition and it was confidently hoped that she would fully recover, but on Saturday morning she took a haemorrhage, followed by another in the evening which completely exhausted her vitality and caused her death. Mr. Parrott came up from Toronto on Saturday, arriving on the late train and did not know of the serious turn until appraised of the death of his wife by friends here. Their one child a boy of three years, also survives. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends goes out to the sorrowing ones. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon to Stark Vale Cemetery, Rev. Diehl conducting the service.

In St. Ann's Church, Toronto, on May 20th, at 11 a.m. was solemnised a quiet but pretty wedding by the Rev. L.E. Skey, M.A. when Minnie May, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Majury of Paisley, Ont., was united in marriage with Mr. Lionel R. Parrott, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Parrott, Toronto.
The bride was attended by Dr. Elizabeth L. Stewart of Toronto and wore a pretty cream serge suit with becoming white hat, trimmed with alice blue and one pink rose. The groomsman was Mr. Miles E. Hoffner of Buffalo. The groom's gift to the bride was a pearl and amethist necklace, to the bridesmaid a gold bracelet and to the bestman a watch chain.
After the ceremony the bridal party had dinner at Mossops, leaving later for a visit to the bride's home. On their return, Mr. and Mrs. Parrott will reside on Ossington Avenue.

The death on Wednesday of another well known and highly esteemed citizen occurred, of Mr. Marshall Watson at his home in Eden Grove. His funeral was held on Saturday from the James Hope Funeral Home with temporary entombment in Douglas Hill Mortuary, Rev. J. Downing officiated. Marshall was born near Paisley in 1890, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Watson. He worked on his father's farm until 1915, when he married the former Catherine Lamb and moved to his own farm. After retiring from farming in 1947, he moved to Eden Grove, for more than 30 years he delivered mail from Eden Grove Post Office on a long and sometime difficult route, retiring about 3 years ago, and it goes without saying that his service for the government and post office was most satisfactory. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church. He will be missed in the village but memory of a good life lived will linger. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, John of R.R. #1 Cargill and Bert of Guelph, one brother, Fred of Alvanley and two grandchildren, one brother, Mel, predeceased him two weeks ago.

Matthew Lorne Davison died on Thursday, January 7th, at his home in Grant township after an illness of four years. He contracted a severe case of influenza in 1918 from which he never recovered. Tuberculosis was the cause of death.
The funeral services were held at the Hemlock Road church on Sunday, January 10th. Rev. S. S. Cross of St. Charles officiated, with burial rites by the L. O. L. of which he had been a member for a number of years. Interment was made in the Tawas City cemetery [Memory Gardens].
Matthew Lorne Davison was born December 12th, 1886, in the county of Bruce, Ontario, Canada. He was the oldest son of Judge David Davison of this city. He came to Michigan April 29, 1893, with his parents and the family settled on the Hemlock road in 1895. March 4th, 1913 he was united in marriage to Olive Smith.
The surviving relatives are Mrs. Olive Davison, the widow, one daughter, Dorothy Margaret, his father, Judge David Davison of Tawas City, three brothers, James H. Davison and Orvill Davison of Flint, and William A. Davison of Tawas City, and two sisters, Mrs. George Smith and Mabel Irene Davison of Tawas City.
Mr. Davison was well liked by his neighbours and had many friends throughout the county who are deeply grieved at his death.

Matthew married Olive Jane SMITH on March 3, 1913 in Treviso, , Veneto, Italy. Olive was born on April 1, 1889 in Tawas Twp, Iosco, Michigan, USA3 and died on May 30, 1969 in Waukegan, Lake, Illinois, USA3 aged 80.

He was first president and life member of Genesee County Fire Association; member of the Executive Club and the American Legion Buick Liberty Post No. 310.
