The death of Donald Sinclair, ex MPP for North Bruce, and more recently the Registrar for the County of Bruce, took place inToronto on Monday, 18th, inst, at the residence of his father-in-law, Mr. Thomas Adair. He had been for a number of years past afflicted with paralysis, but was able until a few weeks ago, to give attention to his office. His visit to Toronto was made for the purpose of securing expert medical advice, but the end came sooner than was expected. Mr. Sinclair was one of the pioneers to the settlement of Bruce, and was widely and favourable known throughout the country. He was a native of Islay, Argyllshire, Scotland where he was born in 1829. He came to Canada in 1851 with the other members of the family. After abrief sojurn in the County of Peel they moved to Bruce when it was thrown open to settlement, and took up their abode in the Township of Arran. He was chosen by acclaimation in 1867 to represent North Bruce in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and was a steadfast Liberal supporter of Mr. Blake and afterwards of Mr. Mowat. After his retirement from Parliament he became in 1888, registrar of Bruce County.
