Heading home down the Cassiar Highway to Stewart B.C.
Hit the Road at 6 am and drove down the Alaska Hwy towards Watson Lake, the temp was 6'C cloudy you could see new snow on the mountains.. We saw a coyote and some elk on the way and at Junction 37 we turned south onto the Stewart-Cassiar Hwy. It started raining and the temp dropped to 3'C. The road alternated between gravel and pavement.
Had lunch at "mama Z's" in Dease Lake and the weather cleared somewhat and we can see the mountains, SPECTACULAR !! There was a mud slide just north of Bell II, the road had just been opened again.

After an amazing drive from Meziadin Junction into Stewart, about 60 km, we checked into the King Edward Hotel at 6 pm. We took a short drive to Hyder, Alaska, to check out the bears but were told by the lady at Canadian Customs "There was a bear in the dump earlier but a guy brought his dag to chase it away."
