Pieter Gutter left home for Canada in 1928 at age 17. He worked on a farm for the Switzer family near Kitchener, Ontario and then on to Guelph Agricultural College for a degree in the Dairy feild. he worked in Walkerton, Ontario where he met and married Jean BELL. They lived for a while in Dundalk where Pete managed the Creamery and then on to Paisley, Ontario where they purchased the Paisley Creamery.In the late fifties Peter was a partner in the 4-Way Milk Plant in Tara which he sold and moved to Wingham managing the Creamery there. Jean died in Wingham and Peter relocated to St. Mary's Ontario. Eventually he moved to port Elgin where he was a Real Estate salesman for many years before his retirement. Peter married Laural "Jean" BELL, daughter of W. "Albert" BELL and Lucy "Emma" SHEANE, on July 10, 1941 in Brampton, Peel Co, Ontario, Canada. Jean was born on April 25, 1912 in Brant Twp, Bruce Co, Ontario, Canada, died on April 9, 1965 in Wingham, Huron Co, Ontario, Canada at age 52, and was buried in Starkvale Cemetery, Bruce County, Greenock Twp. Stien (Aldert's sister) remembers during the war Aldert and Toni lived in Lieden, Suid Holland and he came to Schoorl on a bicycle with no tires. Food was very scare and as a treat Stien boiled eggs for their meal. Aldert wrapped his up in his handkerchief to take back home to his family. Stien worked for her father delivering milk door to door as a teenager in Schoorl. After her marriage to Jan van der PLAS they continued to operate the Melkhandel until their relocation to Canada in 1949. Stien worked at the Paisley Creamery grading eggs until 1958 when they purchased the 5c - $1.00 Store in Paisley from Wally Gregg. Stien operated this store until they retired in 1978. Stien married Jan Cornelis "John" van der PLAS, son of Cornelis Jan "Cor" van der PLAS and Jansje Jeanette DEKKER, on September 22, 1942 in Bergen, , Noord-Holland, Netherlands.
