Jean died in Wingham and Peter relocated to St. Mary's Ontario. Eventually he moved to port Elgin where he was a Real Estate salesman for many years before his retirement.

Stien (Aldert's sister) remembers during the war Aldert and Toni lived in Lieden, Suid Holland and he came to Schoorl on a bicycle with no tires. Food was very scare and as a treat Stien boiled eggs for their meal. Aldert wrapped his up in his handkerchief to take back home to his family.
