Methodist Church
Paisley .........................Photo circa 1911

Apparently the first denomination to minister in Paisley. Rev. Jas Hutchison was placed to administer the Indian Reservation and white settlements ib 1851.The building in the photo was constructed in the late 1870s. The building was sold after Curch Union in 1925.
The Church was located on Queen Street just south of the current Post Office.

Church of The Ascension,
Anglican ..........

The first Anglican services were apparently held in Orchard's Tavern as early as 1855. The building in the photo was constructed on 1864. The building still stands today (2013) and is being converted into a private residence.
The building is located on the SE corner of Albert and Inkerman Streets.

Westminster Presbyterian Church ................ Paisley

The current building was constructed in 1925 after Church Union. and is still serving the Presbyterian congregation today.
The church is located in Paisley at the corner of Queen and Inkerman Streets.

Knox United Church

This was the original Auld Kirk in Paisley, Presbyterian until Union in 1925. The earliest minister was Rev. McLennan who preached in Vanentine's Mill about 1856. The building in the photo located on Goldie Street was completed in 1876. Unfortunately it was destroyed by fire in 1961. A new United Curch was built to accomodate the current congregation.

BAPTIST Church,

The Baptists at first held services in Sergison's Hall, which was conducted by the Rev. Neil Sinclair. In 1862 a church was built on the Elora Road; the locality being found unsuitable, in 1869 a brick church was erected in the village. The Church still stands on Church St..today (2013)
